Your Mission as a Diesel Mechanic
As a Diesel Mechanic, your mission is to maintain the heart of the trucking industry. Your responsibilities include:
- Adjusting equipment and replacing defective parts, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Performing maintenance tasks, cleaning and lubricating to keep trucks in top shape.
- Servicing attachments and working tools for optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to identify and rectify faults and malfunctions.
- Diagnosing issues using computerized and other testing equipment, determining the extent of necessary repairs.
- Testing repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturer specifications and functions correctly.
- Performing heavy truck repair work, ensuring they’re road-ready.
Your Qualifications
- Fluent in the English language.
- No specific education requirements – your hands-on experience matters most.
- Ideally, 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
- Flexibility is key.
- Accurate with excellent oral communication skills.
- Client-focused, building trust and delivering top-notch service.
- Reliable and dependable.
- Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: You should have expertise in major internal engine repairs and overhauls, installation and alignment of engines and machinery, air conditioning systems, fuel injection systems, engine control systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.
- Security and Safety: You should be bondable and an effective communicator.
- Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots are a must.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Be prepared for physically demanding tasks.
- An eye for detail is essential.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Mechanical Maintenance and Repair Specialization: Experience with tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, mechanical transmissions, and braking systems is a valuable asset.
