Your Mission as Direct Service Worker
As a direct service worker, you’re the key to making our clients’ outdoor dreams come true by providing home and community support services to strengthen Metis and Inuit families.
- Ability to complete daily paperwork, such as discharge reports, daily logs, assessment binders, incident reports, meal planning and modifications (including allergy lists), financial logs (household, recreation, allowance, and restitution), admissions, including MAR sheets, pictures, and fire drill logs.
- You will be assisting in doing basic housework, such as cooking and preparing meals (breakfast, dinner, supper, and snacks).
- Documenting any damage or breakage to property, including routine upkeep.
- Readiness to adhere to regular daily tasks and schedules, such as bedtime and wake-up calls.
- Having the ability to keep an eye on and evaluate computer, video, and television usage in accordance with age-appropriate ratings.
- Putting together paperwork and communicating the treatment plan, as well as providing transportation, supervision, and support for every planned appointment or approved family visit.
- Being able to choose appropriate disciplinary actions for young people, record it and share it with other staff members with the rationale behind the discipline and its duration. Evaluate and appraise the progress of the young person following the date of the disciplinary action.
- The ability to administer medicine as recommended, and also keep an eye on family visits.
- Review and evaluate strategies and goals in consultation with collaterals and social workers.
Required Education & Experience
- You must know how to perform CPR and emergency first aid.
- Transportation inside the villages requires access to a dependable vehicle and the validity of a Manitoba class 5F driver’s license.’
- Diploma from grade 12 and above is advantageous.
- Ability to prepare food Capacity to protect extremely private and sensitive data.
- Effective communication abilities in writing, administration, and interpersonal situations.
- Ability to identify and evaluate potentially hazardous circumstances.
- Able to stabilize and deliver inhabitants’ and employees’ needs safely.
